Associate of Arts in Food, Nutrition, and Fitness Studies
Program Description
The Associate of Arts in Food, Nutrition, and Fitness Studies provides a two-year foundation in culinary arts, baking and pastry, or nutrition and fitness, preparing students for further specialization in food, wellness, and hospitality-related disciplines.
Program Objectives
The objective of the program is to provide students with a foundational knowledge of food, nutrition, and fitness studies, and to prepare them for further specialization in culinary arts, baking and pastry, or nutrition and fitness. Students will:
Develop foundational and intermediate skills in food preparation, baking and pastry arts, or nutrition and fitness practice, building technical proficiency and professional competency in a real-world culinary and wellness environment.
Gain an understanding of Italian food culture, products, and culinary tradition alongside the principles of nutrition, food safety, and physical wellbeing.
Engage with AUF's community-facing hospitality environments through experiential learning, connecting academic study to professional front-of-house and back-of-house practice.
General Education Requirements
All AA candidates are required to complete at least 21 gen ed credits in the areas of English Composition, Humanities, Mathematics, Physical and Biological Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Italian language.
