Florence University of the Arts is a private Italian institute of higher education innovating the study abroad experience since 1997. Organized as a US-style institution, FUA is reviewed yearly for European quality certification (Certified by IMQ S.p.A. ISO 9001:2015 Cert. N.9175.FLRU). It features nine academic divisions across Florence and Cinque Terre, from hospitality to liberal arts and health sciences. FUA collaborates with many institutions internationally for the direct acceptance of credits, as indicated in the list of affiliates. Students from non-affiliated institutions may receive an official US accredited transcript issued by The American University of Florence or Fairfield University.
FUA is the only institution in Italy whose academic divisions actively engage students in the local community thanks to projects in collaboration with its partner institution, The American University of Florence. Projects include a school restaurant, pastry shop, spa, guest apartments, fashion retail store, botanical retail store, entrepreneurial lab, publishing house, two exhibition galleries, and a community center open to the public.
Students can choose courses from many academic disciplines and their related departments and courses. By fostering interaction with Italian culture, FUA equips students to thrive as global citizens deeply connected to the local territory.
